Kym Cooper is a multidisciplinary artist who currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina.   Her work explores the Afro-American tumultuous journey from 1619 to the present through her mixed media artwork. 

She completed two vibrant quilts, Two Days in Tulsa,1921 and the Tulsa Massacre: Beyond the Veil along with a  wooden piece, The Wood Plaque: Getting to the Promised Land honoring the injured and dead Afro-American ancestors who owned, had homes on and businesses that were never rebuilt during those two horrific days and the lifelong ramification generations later.
