Exploring Joseph Campbell’s hero’s journey and using Oklahoma as the backdrop, subject, and/or character, participants will create 1-3 minute experimental films and videos during a free 4 week workshop.
Open to all Oklahomans. No previous professional experience is required. Films and videos can be created from found and original footage.
The first two sessions will consist of watching and discussing experimental films and video art by world renowned artists such as Maya Deren, James Franco, Joan Jonas, Kalup Linzy, David Lynch, Jacolby Satterwhite and more. The third session we will welcome our guest speaker and get updated on everyone’s projects.
The final session everyone will present their projects.
Each work will be presented in an exhibition that will run May 3-June 28, 2025 at Queen Rose Art House
Each participant will receive an honorarium for presenting in the exhibition.
